Editor,
Mr. Obama won the presidency and Democrats won both houses of Congress by wide margins in 2008. Having wasted a precious year on the pipe dream of "bipartisanship," it is time now for the policies that voters thought we were going to enjoy: end the wars, close Guantanamo, pass immigration reform, make college affordable, regulate big business, bring manufacturing back to the U.S.A., develop alternative sources of energy.
The wicked witch was supposed to have died on Jan. 20, 2009. It wouldn't take a lot for Americans to be proud of our country again. Step One is to stop trying to make crazy people agree with you. Let the Republicans spew their nonsense, then ignore them and do what is right for this country and right for the human race.
