Demand.

Editor,

The sharpies who hold the cards in our economy have been betting on China all along. Demand is supposed to burgeon in an emerging middle class in China. A billion Chinese consumers who work for orders of magnitude less pay than spoiled-rotten lazy Americans will buy all the products multinational corporations can produce. Why spend money stimulating demand among American consumers who won't even work for less than $20 an hour?
