Fear and Anger

Editor,

Sarah Palin's assertion that talk show hosts repeating day in and day out that our country has been taken over by Stalinist Nazis and that the listener's blood is a hair's breadth from running in the street has no effect on unbalanced people is wrong.

It is precisely this deliberately manufactured atmosphere of fear and anger that has the potential to fill the mind of an unbalanced person with fear, anger, and a sense of urgency to do something about it. "Something" in the case of a gun nut is to start shooting people.

The Republicans have no policies of any substance to propose. They in fact do not believe that citizens should pay taxes, and they believe that government "is the problem."

To further their agenda, their propagandists spew bald-faced lie after bald-faced lie all day every day to whip up fear of and anger at our government. To deny this is just one more lie.

The Republicans have to do this because they have no plan whatsoever for addressing the needs of anyone in this country besides giant corporations, banks, and billionaires.
