Laissez-faire capitalism vs. economic democracy is this century's answer to 19th century America's irreconcilable divide over slavery. One hopes that all those heavily armed self-proclaimed patriots out there ginned up on Faux News's rabble-rousing lies do not start shooting any time soon.
