Republican authoritarianism.

Republican ideology is inherently authoritarian. Shutting people up, stepping on their heads, evicting dissenters from debate are all necessary when policies intended to enrich the already richest 1% at everybody else's expense can only be sold with lies, half truths, and distortions. The Republicans have to stifle speech, and they have to run their own Faux propaganda mill, because that is the only way they can shove their authoritarian policies down the country's throat.
