Editor,
Strip-searches for any offense, as well as violent police attacks on peaceful protesters, is part of a concerted effort to shut down dissent against corporate rule in the USA.
It is called fascism, the three pillars of which are:
* A ruling class who see themselves as victims (of the "liberal" media, e.g.),
* Magical thinking (deregulation protects consumers),
* Lawlessness (beatings, killings, spying, disappearances, torture).
Fascism is the USA used to be cafe hyperbole. Now it is becoming more of a reality every day.
