I don't know who this "we" is that James Davison Hunter is talking about.
It has been obvious to me and all of my friends for my entire life that the pigs who wallow at the top of the garbage heap we inhabit will do anything to anyone to gratify themselves, whether it be with sex, money, power, or war.
You've got to understand that the people you cede the management of your world to see you as things to be used, abused, and stomped on any way they like and care nothing about anyone but themselves.
