Mumbo-jumbo

Tanks from one belligerent country are supposed to fight tanks from another in high-speed exchanges on mechanized battlefields.

Tanks are not supposed to be used to intimidate civilians airing their grievances to government in the streets.

And yet that is the way it always is.

Jets bomb civilians. Artillery shells civilians. Drones bomb civilians. Tanks confront civilians. Even naval vessels shell civilians. And of course heavily armed police beat and gas protesters all over the world.

People who sign up for the military of any country, and the police, need to have a clearer idea of what they are getting into than the high falutin mumbo-jumbo recruiters use to lure them.
