Tax the 1%.

Editor,

Public sector labor pays for the lavish lifestyle of the ultra-rich by funding huge tax breaks with slashed wages and benefits.

Don't believe me? Look at the famous curve everybody knows about that shows how workers' productivity, which translates into profits for corporations and fatter portfolios for the wealthy, has been rising steadily since WWII while wages have flat-lined since Ronald Reagan ascended the throne to represent the rich:

Consumers of social services like public transportation, schools, roads, and bridges pay for the riches of the 1% as well with increased fees for reduced quality because RICH PEOPLE DON'T LIKE PAYING TAXES.

So, OK fine, blame "the unions" for standing up for a living wage, but if you are not a member of the 1%, which side exactly do you think you're on?

Taxing the 1% does not mean taxing you. They get their media friends to tell you that it does, and they get their politician friends to tax you instead. But the solution is to tax the 1%, and you can rail against public employees all you want, but you will never have it right.
