Pardon Bush for torture?

Editor,

Are you kidding?

Pardon people who as a matter of policy implemented a brutal and inhuman program that violates a long list of extremely serious domestic and international laws?

What do you think these laws are? Gentleman's agreements between people who in actuality can do whatever they damn well please?

These people -- Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Cambone, Miller, Sanchez, Rice, Yoo, Bybee, and others -- have trampled on the most sacred and most cynically ballyhooed American tradition: respect for human rights.

The one thing Americans think sets them apart from the fascists, whom Americans take credit for defeating in WWII, is that Americans are the good guys: Americans do not torture.

This BushCo cabal is the most despicable gang of criminals who ever ruled the USA. They destroyed Iraq on false pretenses, killed hundreds of thousands of people, displaced millions, and tortured God-knows-how-many more.

Lying, warmongering, torturing invaders. They put every American on this planet at risk because millions upon millions of people hate the USA for what these people did.

Punish them, for God's sake!

What idiot would suggest pardoning them for what they did to thousands of people and the honor of the USA?
