Growth.

Editor,
That profits must always grow is the fundamental contradiction in capitalism and the most dire threat to the survival of the human race. Unlike other living things, human beings, enslaved by Corporations, expend huge effort doing things that are not only irrelevant to their survival but actually antithetical to it. Humans depend on man-made infrastructure to survive, yet, rather than to pool their effort to create, maintain, and enjoy living in a world in harmony with Nature, humans dance like monkeys on an electric wire to create profits for monstrous criminals who will kill anyone, destroy anything, and neglect all of humanity's needs to live in opulent perversity.
