Stupid ruse.

Washington obviously thinks its job is to enhance the profits of giant corporations: health "insurance" corporations, for-profit hospital conglomerates, banks, "defense" contractors, weapons manufacturers, media conglomerates.

The system Washington politicians are obliged to game is the representative democracy the ground rules for which were laid out in the U.S. Constitution.

So clever arguments are dreamed up in think tanks and PR agencies to manipulate voters with logic turned on its head; and political theatrics conceal the fact that politicians are completely ignoring the will of the American people, whose health, safety, and prosperity are irrelevant to the actual objective (maximize corporate profits).

It amazes me that so many Americans still fall for this stupid ruse.
