Running around in circles.

Editor,

The problem for politicians and giant corporations is that there is no way to transition from a growth-oriented economy to a sustainable economy and continue doing business as usual.

People accustomed to making billions of dollars by keeping the ignorant misinformed and pumping out mountains of garbage would like to put a more environmentally friendly face on their brands, but it is their brands themselves that have got to go.

Gorging ourselves on oil is just one visibly obvious part of the problem with corporate capitalism now that oil is gushing into the Gulf of Mexico.

What we don't see close up is the unbelievable destruction of every conceivable environment in every corner of our planet in order to keep consumers running around in circles and a handful of extremely rich people extremely rich.
