Embryo fetish.

Editor,

This embryo fetish comes straight out of a radical theocratic faction's interpretation of their Bible. Fine. They are entitled to their opinion. But this country was founded on a non-negotiable separation between church and state. The Founders contemplated long and hard the tyranny of sects and wrote about it extensively. Now we are seeing why they were so concerned.

A government can manage the material affairs of a state; it has no hand and no say in anyone's salvation, which depends entirely on each individual's relationship with his or her conception of his or her own gods.

Our country is at war with religious fanatics abroad, and what do we have at home? Religious fanatics threatening and hounding people of the Muslim faith and dictating policy governing scientific research. These people need to be sent back to their churches and banned from bringing their Bible into Congress.
