I'm with the Republicans. I don't fly, so I think we can save an awful lot of wasteful spending by abolishing the FAA, shutting down the air traffic control system, and -- on a local level -- closing the airports. Hey. My money is my money, and I don't want those socialist Democrats spending it on junk that I don't need. (Do you see my point?)
And, as has been said in many ways, those fat cats with all that dough they don't want to part with make that dough because government provides all manner of infrastructure, from sewage treatment plants to airports, and all manner of services, from courts to licensing agencies, that their businesses and their employees depend on.
This "your money" argument from the right wing is so darned stupid I wish I was clever enough to find a better word for it. Just darned stupid.
