Free to die.

Editor,

All of the arguments supporting the mandate rest on hospitals' obligation to treat sick people who have no health insurance.

The obvious Republican solution to this is to release hospitals, almost 100% of which have already been privatized, from this obligation.

Once uninsured Americans are free to die in the streets from untreated medical emergencies, the "health" insurance corporations will be free to return to the status quo ante, where healthy people who can afford to are free to insure themselves for medical necessities and everyone else can die.
