Editor,
People with a lot of money seem not to notice the multitude of contributions large and small by millions of other people that make their financial success possible.
For starters they know how to read and write, which they learned in schools where teachers worked that were built by people who realized the necessity for education. They eat food that migrant farm workers sweat to pick for them. They use medicine that universities and research institutions make possible. They fly in planes designed by engineers who learned arithmetic in schools somewhere. They ride on highways built with money retail clerks and janitors paid in taxes. You want me to list every possible thing I can think of?
How any human being can see him or herself as "self-made" is beyond me.
It is time for everyone to join the human race.
