Crazy.

Stand your ground is a crazy law.

Police officers are trained rigorously in deescalation and even so still kill an alarming number of unarmed citizens, usually black or brown.

A trigger-happy, armed vigilante by contrast is not trained to deescalate conflict. His very reason for carrying a weapon is feeling besieged by criminals out to do him wrong.

Of course such a guy will shoot first and claim self defense later.
