Consideration.

Editor,

When I was going through my spiritual awakening phase 30 years ago or so, I discovered that saying "Excuse me" when a negligent idiot bumps into me or otherwise intrudes on my personal space enables me to tell them that a violation has occurred even though I am the one taking responsibility for it.

Who knows? Maybe being bumped into is my fault.

But getting to communicate that something occurred that requires an apology helps me let go of an incident immediately, and maybe one in a million of the people I have apologized to realized a little consideration for the other guy is not that hard to feel.
